Il mitico grande successo degli, allora emergenti, "Squallor" (1971/72/73), con la voce di Giuliano Gil Brezza della band "Lampo e i suoi Pigri" di Riccione (Flash and his Lazy Boys). Nelle sale da ballo, quante coppie, quanti innamorati abbiamo fatto ballare con questo "lento"! E contemporaneamente fatto divertire.. anche chi non ballava! Era molto richiesto e molto gradito.

"38 luglio" è stato scritto da Daniele Pace e musicato da Giancarlo Bigazzi, Totò Savio e Antonio Virgilio Savona del Quartetto Cetra, e recitato da Alfredo Cerruti.
Il brano narra le vicende di "un elettrotecnico che seppe inventare la pila, non pochi ci riuscirono, ma fu lui che la inventò". Il testo fa enorme affidamento al nonsenso, a partire dalla data che dà il nome alla canzone (per l'appunto, il 38 luglio), ma al contrario di quella che poi diventerà una delle caratteristiche principali degli Squallor, non vengono mai pronunciate parolacce o termini particolarmente volgari. Questo fatto rende 38 luglio una delle poche canzoni degli Squallor ad aver ottenuto dei passaggi radiofonici anche su emittenti nazionali. (da W.)"

Nei mitici anni '70, andavano di moda le "Love Story", soprattutto dopo il successo strepitoso del film omonimo. Ispirato da una storia vera, Giuliano Gil Brezza scrisse, parole e musica, questa canzone da lui eseguita regolarmente nelle sale da ballo, con la Band (complesso), allora in auge, "Lampo e i suoi Pigri", e che riscontrò un notevole gradimento di pubblico. Non fu mai incisa dal vivo e perciò la si vuole qui evidenziare anche per ricordare gli amici del gruppo, due purtroppo scomparsi. Buon ascolto!

Una canzone del 1972, semplice, ma intensa, cantata in italiano, ma originariamente in francese col titolo "Ton âme", da Pascal Danel. Qui eseguita dal vivo, in questa vecchia registrazione, dal sottoscritto, con il gruppo "Lampo e i suoi Pigri" di Riccione (Italy).
Un testo bello e vero; la descrizione di una storia che potrebbe appartenere a chiunque di noi. Tanti ricordi di un tempo passato che non torna più ma sono rimasti scolpiti nella memoria, oltre che nel cuore.
Un abbraccio a tutti i componenti del gruppo, compresi gli amici passati a miglior vita e che ci mancano. Per lasciare ai giovani l'arte vocal-musicale di quei favolosi anni '70.
